Carcass postpone all upcoming shows

Due to a family issue, Carcass has decided to postpone their scheduled tour of Australia, New Zealand, China, and India, as per theprp. Daniel Wilding, the drummer for the British death metal veterans, is presently dealing with a “deeply upsetting family situation,” which has caused the band to postpone their plans.

We’re incredibly sorry to announce that we have decided to reschedule our upcoming “Putrefying Down Under” Australia / NZ tour along with our China and India dates.

Our drummer Dan is facing a deeply upsetting family situation, and his priority right now is being with his family. Out of respect for everyone involved, we won’t be sharing further details, but we hope our fans will understand that this is a situation where family has to come first and he simply cannot be so far away from home for so long.

We know how much people have been looking forward to these shows, and postponing them is not a decision we have taken lightly. We are working on rescheduled dates and will share further information as soon as we can.

For our fans in India, Bangalore Open Air will still go ahead as scheduled, and we sincerely encourage everyone to attend the festival, support the other bands performing and be part of what will still be an incredible day.

Thank you for your patience, understanding and, most importantly, your kindness and support at what is a very difficult time for our band and family.

All existing tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled dates, further information to follow.

Bill Steer and Ken Owen founded Carcass as a school band, but they quickly broke up. After that, Steer joined the D-beat group Disattack, which included Paul on bass, Pek on vocals, and drummer Middie. The bassist departed the group in 1986 after the band released a four-track demo called “A Bomb Drops…,” and Jeff Walker, the former guitarist and vocalist of the Electro Hippies, took his place. Following a trip to India, vocalist Andrew Pek changed his name to Sanjiv. Around the same time, Bill Steer joined Napalm Death, taking Justin Broadrick’s place, and recorded the second side of “Scum”, the band’s debut album. Walker created “Scum”‘s cover image as well.
