Deadmau5, a multi-platinum Canadian EDM DJ and producer, has released his remix of the song “Fabienk,” which was originally written by his fellow masked compatriots in Angine de Poitrine, as per theprp. Deadmau5 has been performing that version live during recent performances; the studio version is now accessible below. Angine de Poitrine’s most recent work, “Vol. II,” which was released in April, begins with “Fabienk.” Naturally, earlier this year, a live performance of that masked duo’s peculiar microtonal, live looping output went viral online, causing their fan base to soar.

The Canadian rock duo Angine de Poitrine was founded in 2019 in Saguenay, Quebec. Khn de Poitrine (guitar, bass) and Klek de Poitrine (drums) are the pseudonyms of its unknown members. They are renowned for their intricate microtonal compositions in the experimental rock and math rock genres, as well as their absurdist appearance, which includes large papier-mâché masks and costumes with black and white polka dots.
