Angine de Poitrine win the 2026 Polaris Music Prize – check out video footage of their performance there

Psych rock duo Angine de Poitrine claimed the prestigious Polaris Music Prize at the ceremony on September 22 at Massey Hall in Toronto, Ontario, taking home the grand prize for their album “Vol. II”, as per theprp. The award includes a $50,000 CAD cash prize and annually recognizes the artist behind the year’s top Canadian album.

To win the title, “Vol. II” edged out stiff competition from nominated works by Peaches, Tanya Tagaq, Aquakultre, and Begonia. In addition to the main album honor, the masked duo secured an extra $10,000 CAD as their track “Fabienk” won the Polaris Song Prize over competing singles from PUP, Charlotte Cornfield, and others. Angine de Poitrine attended the Toronto event in person and performed the award-winning track live during the show.
