Discover the new compilation against ICE, titled “Contra-ICE Vol, 1: ICE OUT”

Thru a new compilation dubbed “Contra-ICE Vol, 1: ICE OUT,” members of Rage Against The Machine, Beastie Boys, Fishbone, and many others have taken a stand against US Immigration and Customs Enforcement and its current practices, as per theprp. This gathers songs from spoken word artists, comedians, and musicians. SoundsGood Records will release it on October 2nd, and on October 3rd, La Cita in Los Angeles, CA will host an album release show. On Friday, August 14 at 10 AM local time, tickets will be available on contra-ice.com. The featured cover of DJ Snake and Justin Bieber‘s six-time platinum song “Let Me Love You” below features Ad-Rock of Beastie Boys with his wife Kathleen Hanna of Bikini Kill fame. Frank Figueroa and fellow Beastie Boys members Money Mark and Fredo Ortiz make appearances on that song.

Build Art Make Change (BAMC) announces “Contra-ICE Vol. 1: ICE OUT”, a benefit compilation uniting legendary voices across music, spoken word, and comedy to amplify the fight for immigrant rights and stand against inhumane immigration enforcement, out October 2nd via SoundsGoodRecords.

The compilation features exclusive, unreleased music from over 30 artists, including Ozomatli, Kathleen Hanna, Ad-Rock, Tom Morello, Fred Armisen, Fishbone, Money Mark, David J (Bauhaus, Love and Rockets), and Jello Biafra. This sonic journey, curated by BAMC founder Dali Colorado, shines a crucial light on systemic injustices.

BAMC is a nonprofit organization working to empower vulnerable communities by harnessing artistic expression to raise awareness, shift public discourse, and drive meaningful policy reform. They are leading a crucial shift in how America talks about immigration, moving away from abstract political debate and toward what matters most: keeping families together and building economic stability for thriving communities.

Colorado says: “Contra-ICE is not only an album. It is not only a collective. It is a cultural infrastructure built to support frontline organizations, amplify immigrant voices, and mobilize creatives who believe that love is not passive; it’s organized. Music has always been my first language. Justice has always been my inheritance. Contra-ICE is where those two lineages meet, urgently, unapologetically, and with LOVE OVER FEAR.

“As a DJ, I approached this project as a curator, carefully crafting a listening experience that unfolds as a journey. Every track, transition, and voice serves a purpose, inviting listeners to move through moments of grief, anger, resilience, hope, and ultimately, action. My hope is that people don’t simply hear this album—they feel it, connect with it, and leave inspired to create change in their own communities.

“From beginning to end, it tells a story, weaving together music, comedy, and spoken word from a diverse community of artists responding to the inhumane treatment perpetuated by today’s fascist ICE state.”

Contra-ICE artistic director and acclaimed cartoonist Lalo Alcaraz adds, “Artists, musicians, performers, and decent people from all walks of life are pushing back against the authoritarianism we are feeling in our own country. Contra-ICE is one expression of that. Through art, humor, and creativity, we are using free expression to remind people what is at stake and to show how culture itself can be a form of resistance.”

The first single is a cover of DJ Snake and Justin Bieber’s song “Let Me Love You” by Kathleen Hanna with Ad-Rock, Money Mark, Fredo Ortiz, and Frank Figueroa. Hanna says: “It’s not often you get to play music with your favorite people while working with a grassroots organization like Contra-ICE. They are passionately fighting against fascism and white supremacy, which is something none of us can afford to ignore. Mario Caldato Jr. (Beastie Boys) produced our song which was a dream come true for me. Thank you so much to Contra-ICE for making this happen and allowing me to represent what we collectively stand for.”

Proceeds from the Contra-ICE album will directly fund frontline powerhouses, including the National Day Laborer Organizing Network (NDLON) and Unión del Barrio to defend labor rights and protect community-built wealth.

In celebration of the compilation’s release, BAMC will host a day of performances from artists and DJs featured on the record on October 3rd at La Cita in Los Angeles. Tickets will go on sale Friday, August 14 at 10AM local at www.contra-ice.com.

The full record will be available for sale digitally and on CD. There will also be a limited number of vinyl copies, with a selection of tracks from the record (vinyl track list), and a premium vinyl accompanied by a print signed by Alcaraz and other compilation artists available for purchase.
