Tom Morello, the guitarist for Rage Against The Machine, has revealed the details of his upcoming self-described first-ever rock solo album, “Everyone Gets Everything They Want”, as per theprp. On September 25, Mom + Pop Music will release the new LP by the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer. The fifth single to be released from that trip is “Date Night,” which took lyrical cues from a few historical personalities. For this song, Freddie Oversteegen, Truus Oversteegen, and Hannie Schaft served as Morello‘s proverbial muses. These three teenage girls used seduction to entice Nazis and German officers to their deaths while simultaneously carrying out numerous acts of sabotage. During the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands during World War II, they formed an alliance with the Dutch resistance. On this most recent song, Morello once again enlisted the help of his adolescent son Roman Morello.
His collaboration with System Of A Down frontman Serj Tankian, a long-time friend and fellow activist, on “Adjourn It” and his “Final Fantasy XIV” song “Everything Burns,” which included Beartooth vocalist Caleb Shomo, are just two of the songs from this endeavour that have already surfaced. However, the featured tune “Unconquered” features members of the Irish rap group Kneecap, whom Morello has referred to as “the Rage Against The Machine of now.”
