Carefully curated chaos: Broken Summer 2026

Author Ekaterina Iakiamseva - 29.6.2026

And the day has finally come—one of our favorite one-day festivals is back!

Broken Summer isn’t about chasing scale; it’s about delivering the perfect day of heavy music. With a single stage, zero schedule clashes, and an electric crowd, every ounce of attention stays exactly where it belongs: on the bands.

This year’s lineup was stacked from top to bottom, featuring Bad Omens as the headliner alongside The Plot In You, Paleface Swiss, Kublai Khan TX, Wargasm, Dying Wish, and Vianova. Every set brought its own energy, and the day flowed seamlessly from one crushing performance to the next.

There was, however, one moment that overshadowed an otherwise incredible festival: Bad Omens’ no-photo policy. They’re joining a growing number of metalcore bands embracing the same approach. Are rock bands still rebels—or have they become just another carefully managed brand?

And that’s exactly what makes this so fascinating—and controversial. Some bands don’t break the system. They refine it.

Despite that, Broken Summer once again proved why it’s one of the best heavy music festivals in Scandinavia: great organization, a passionate crowd, and a lineup that delivered from the first band to the last. We can’t wait for next year.
