Lamb of God have announced that their popular metal cruise, Headbangers Boat, will make its European debut in 2028, setting sail from Southampton, England, to La Coruña, Spain.
The fifth edition of the event will take place from May 27 to May 31, 2028, aboard the Norwegian Jewel. After four voyages departing from Miami, Florida, the festival at sea is heading across the Atlantic for the first time.
Lamb of God will perform two sets during the cruise, with Paleface Swiss, Bleed From Within, Kublai Khan TX, Shadows Fall and Heriot joining the initial lineup. More bands are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
The move to Europe marks a significant expansion for Headbangers Boat, which has established itself as a distinctive event combining heavy music with opportunities for fans to interact with their favorite musicians.
In addition to live performances, the 2028 voyage will feature a selection of activities hosted by Lamb of God‘s members. Frontman Randy Blythe will take part in an extended conversation and Q&A session, while drummer Art Cruz will host a DJ set titled “Heavy In The Mix”.
Bassist John Campbell will also participate in the Headbangers Poker Tournament, where fans can compete for a place at the final table. Other planned activities include metal-themed trivia, karaoke and a merchandise swap.
The cruise will depart from Southampton and travel to La Coruña in Spain’s Galicia region, near the rugged Costa da Morte coastline. Passengers will have the opportunity to explore the historic port city, although shore excursions will become available to book closer to the sailing date.
The Norwegian Jewel offers several restaurants, bars, lounges and recreational facilities, providing a different setting for the performances and fan experiences.
In an interview with Kerrang!, Blythe explained that bringing the cruise to Europe would make the experience more accessible to fans who previously faced the expense of traveling to the United States. The new departure point could also create opportunities to involve more European and British bands in future editions.
Presale registration is already open, with a dedicated presale for previous Headbangers Boat passengers scheduled for November 12–16. General cabin sales will begin on November 20 at 7 p.m. GMT.
Fans booking during the presale period can receive a discount of $100 per cabin, with installment payment options also available.
The full lineup and additional information are available through the official Headbangers Boat website.
More artists will be announced.
