If you’re a metalhead, you probably enjoy Halloween more than any other day of the year. And you’re not alone! Here are all the highlights that happened yesterday in the metal world…
The renowned thrash metal ensemble Metallica commemorated Halloween with their latest performance during their residency at The Sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada. Although the band exhibited minimal engagement in costume festivities, they incorporated an additional composition into their continually evolving setlist for the immersive series of concerts.
The track “Of Wolf And Man,” originating from their double diamond-certified self-titled album released in 1991, was the most recent addition to receive a cinematic visual presentation for the “Life Burns Faster” series of performances. Fan-generated footage capturing the debut of this song during the residency can be accessed below.
Paleface Swiss have often been likened to Slipknot throughout the years. During their Halloween performance on October 31st at the ‘Core Fest’ in Göppingen, Germany, they embraced this comparison.
The ensemble adorned themselves as prominent members of the renowned masked metal group from Iowa. They commenced their set with a medley of Slipknot covers, which included renditions of “(sic),” “People = Shit,” and “Psychosocial.”
Subsequently, fan-captured footage of this performance has been disseminated online. Notably, this was not their inaugural occasion covering Slipknot in a live setting, as they had previously incorporated a rendition of “People = Shit” into their performances this fall.
Halloween 2026 has officially concluded, and a compilation of attire worn by musicians from various genres, including metal, hard rock, and metalcore, has been documented. Longtime observers may express disappointment upon learning that the married duo of Charlie Benante, associated with Anthrax and Pantera, and Carla Harvey, known for her work with The Violent Hour and formerly with Butcher Babies, deviated from their longstanding tradition this year by abstaining from participation, after years of prominence in Halloween celebrations.
Nevertheless, they did share a retrospective collection of their previous costumes. In addition, a diverse array of artists spanning thrash metal, platinum-certified hard rock, metalcore, hardcore, and industrial genres actively engaged in the festivities of the spooky season this year.
