In Flames announces colossal European tour with Trivium, Paleface Swiss and VOLA

Author Arto Mäenpää - 25.8.2026

Swedish melodic death metal pioneers In Flames and American metal heavyweights Trivium are joining forces for a massive European co-headlining tour in spring 2027. The extensive run will also feature Paleface Swiss and VOLA as support on every date.

The tour kicks off at Dublin’s 3Arena on March 29th and will make its way through the UK and mainland Europe before heading to Scandinavia. The trek includes some of the biggest venues of both bands’ careers, including London’s Alexandra Palace, Düsseldorf’s PSD Bank Dome, Stockholm’s Avicii Arena and Tampere’s Nokia Arena. The tour concludes at Spodek in Katowice, Poland, on May 7th.

The bands will alternate top billing depending on the territory. Trivium will headline the UK and Ireland dates with In Flames appearing as special guests, while In Flames will headline the Scandinavian dates as well as the shows in Finland, Latvia, with Trivium appearing as special guests. Across the rest of mainland Europe, the two bands will perform as co-headliners.

Paleface Swiss and VOLA will open every show on the tour.

In Flames commented on the upcoming trek:

“We are excited to return to Europe with our old friends in Trivium! Paleface Swiss and Vola round out an amazing bill. You don’t want to miss this epic night of metal coming YOUR way! See you soon…”

Trivium added:

“We’re beyond stoked to be joining forces with our longtime friends In Flames once again for another legendary run across Europe and the UK. With Paleface Swiss and VOLA joining us, this is going to be one hell of a bill. A new era of Trivium is about to begin. We’ll see you out there.”

Artist pre-sale tickets will become available on Wednesday, August 26th at 10:00 a.m. CEST / 9:00 a.m. BST, while the general sale begins on Friday, August 28th at 10:00 a.m. CEST / 9:00 a.m. BST.

In Flames working on a new album

The tour announcement arrives as In Flames are coming off a busy summer of touring and their Göteborg Brinner festival in Gothenburg. The Swedish metallers have also confirmed that they are currently working on a new studio album, with further details expected to be revealed in the future.

Formed in 1990, In Flames are widely regarded as one of the pioneers of the Gothenburg melodic death metal sound. Across 14 studio albums, the band has continued to evolve its sound while becoming one of Sweden’s most internationally successful metal exports.

Meanwhile, Trivium are entering a new chapter of their own. The band’s current lineup consists of vocalist and guitarist Matthew K. Heafy, guitarist Corey Beaulieu, bassist Paolo Gregoletto and drummer Alex Rüdinger. Their 2025 EP “Struck Dead” offered a taste of the new material the band has been developing.

The tour’s supporting acts bring two very different sides of contemporary heavy music to the package. Switzerland’s Paleface Swiss will bring their combination of deathcore, beatdown hardcore and nu-metal to the arenas following the release of their 2025 album “Cursed” and 2026 EP “The Wilted”.

Danish-Swedish progressive metal outfit VOLA, meanwhile, will add their blend of progressive metal, djent and electronica to the bill. The band’s latest album, “Friend Of A Phantom”, was released in 2024 and featured In Flames vocalist Anders Fridén as a guest.
