Bullet For My Valentine hint at their lowest tunings yet on ‘Social Apocalypse’

Author Benedetta Baldin - 5.11.2026

Bullet For My Valentine have offered a new indication of how heavy their forthcoming album “Social Apocalypse” may sound. In an interview with Portugal’s Look magazine, bassist and vocalist Jamie Mathias said the band used lower tunings than on any of its previous albums, while also teasing a particularly heavy riff on the next single.

The Welsh metal band are due to release “Social Apocalypse” on March 19, 2027. The record’s title track arrived in September 2026, ending a four-year gap between new songs. The upcoming release will be the group’s eighth studio album.

Mathias and guitarist Michael “Padge” Paget also discussed the writing process, saying the material went through numerous changes before its overall direction became clear. Paget described the challenge as maintaining the recognizable musical identity of Bullet For My Valentine while still allowing the band to explore different ideas.

The musicians connected the album title to the effects of digital habits and social media. Their comments suggest that the group’s new material will combine its familiar melodic-metal approach with a more forceful guitar sound, although the band has not announced a release date for the next single.

“Social Apocalypse” also includes collaborations with Against The Current vocalist Chrissy Costanza and Lorna Shore singer Will Ramos. A previously announced European arena tour will feature Pendulum and Dark Divine as special guests.

Bullet For My Valentine have announced their biggest tour ever, which will see them perform at arenas across Europe and the UK. Pendulum will be the special guests on all dates, with Dark Devine as the support act.
