After video of a couple performing a sexual act on the Ferris wheel during this past weekend’s “Download Festival” went viral online, a police inquiry was started, as per theprp. That incident happened on the evening of June 13th, right before Guns N’ Roses hit the stage for a headline set, according to accounts and video/pictures. This is what a Leicestershire Police spokeswoman said about the incident. X provides an NSFW image depicting the alleged offence.
Officers are aware of a video on social media concerning two people acting inappropriately while on a Ferris wheel at Download this weekend. The incident is currently being investigated and officers are in contact with the organisers of the festival. Enquiries in relation to this are ongoing and police are working to identify and speak to the people involved. The other two headliners of this year’s festival were Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park.
Since 2003, Donington Park in Leicestershire, England has hosted the outdoor rock and metal Download Festival every June. With over 100 bands performing on multiple stages and 75,000–80,000 spectators in recent years, it is the biggest rock festival in the United Kingdom. Approximately 900 acres (360 ha) make up the property, which has a sizable “village” portion with stalls, bars, and entertainment. It is next to East Midlands Airport and encircles Donington Racecourse. In addition to Donington, it took place in Paris (France), Madrid (Spain), Hockenheimring (Germany), Sydney, and Melbourne (Australia) between 2016 and 2022. Andy Copping developed Download as a replacement for Monsters of Rock, which took place in Donington until 1996.
Some of the biggest rock and metal bands have performed at Download. It is comparable to the nearby Bloodstock Festival, but Download is significantly bigger, has more major bands, and a wider variety of genres.
