You can now stream Alice In Chains’ ‘Live Facelift’ show on YouTube

Grunge icons Alice In Chains recorded their “Live Facelift” concert film/album on December 22, 1990, at Seattle, Washington’s Moore Theatre, as per theprp. The resultant VHS video was first released in July of 1991 and was later certified gold in 2001. With the exception of “Bleed The Freak,” the band’s camp digitally uploaded separate videos for four of the five songs that were initially included on the VHS version of that endeavour to YouTube on August 27. Naturally, two of the band’s now-deceased members were there during that performance: bassist Mike Starr and frontman Layne Staley, both of whom would later die from drug overdoses.

The American rock group Alice in Chains (commonly shortened to AiC) was founded in Seattle in 1987. The band’s lineup has included drummer Sean Kinney, bassist Mike Inez, and vocalists/guitarists Jerry Cantrell and William DuVall since 2006. Former band members include bassist Mike Starr and vocalist Layne Staley. Heavy metal is the foundation of Alice in Chains‘ sound and style, which is frequently linked to grunge music. The group is well-known for its unique vocal approach, which frequently featured Staley and Cantrell’s (and later Cantrell and DuVall’s) harmonised vocals. Cantrell, Kinney, Staley, and Starr made up the initial lineup of Alice in Chains. They adopted the name from Alice N’ Chains, Staley’s former band.

Together with Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden, the band became well-known during the early 1990s grunge movement. The single “Man in the Box” from their 1990 debut album “Facelift” helped them gain popularity on MTV and mainstream radio. The band’s follow-up album, “Dirt”, was a huge commercial and mainstream success later that year, following the release of the EP “Sap” in early 1992. Among other hits, “Rooster” and “Would?” were included in “Dirt”. Early in 1993, Inez took Starr’s position on bass. The popular single “No Excuses” from 1994’s “Jar of Flies” and the radio successes “Heaven Beside You” and “Grind” from 1995’s Alice in Chains both peaked at the top of the US Billboard 200 chart.
