Will AC/DC play in Toronto? Massive storm wrecks Rogers Stadium ahead of band’s show

A strong rainstorm inflicted “significant damage” to Rogers Stadium, potentially jeopardising AC/DC’s next performance in Toronto, as per UCR. Large portions of the venue’s seating area suffered significant damage and buckling as a result of the storm on Wednesday nite, as shown in the images and video below. On Wednesday, September 16, the stadium will host the third-to-last performance of the Australian rock veterans’ Power Up tour. According to the Toronto Star, there was damage outside the stadium as well, with a toppled portable light stand and debris from the venue’s shattered plastic portable toilet frames strewn all over the field.

As a result of yesterday’s extreme weather, Rogers Stadium sustained significant damage. As always, the safety of our employees and on-site contractors is our top priority. Fortunately, no one was injured during the extreme weather event. We are currently assessing the extent of the damage and will provide further information as it becomes available.

AC/DC‘s Power Up tour, which began in May 2024, has been much simpler than their Rock or Bust tour of 2015–16. They have stated that the event in Philadelphia on September 29 will mark the end of this tour, but they have made no mention of their future intentions.
