The Australian hard rock band AC/DC has had to cancel their scheduled performance in Toronto, Ontario on September 16th, as per theprp. The group announced on September 9, that they would have to cancel due to significant damage to the site caused by strong weather. The Live Nation-run outdoor Rogers Stadium was declared dangerous by city inspectors due to weather damage, which sparked a lot of conjecture in the Canadian media in recent days. Relevant parties released a number of statements on the subject, which are included below.

Following a thorough assessment of Rogers Stadium after last week’s extreme weather event, Live Nation today announced that the upcoming AC/DC concert has been cancelled due to severe damage to portions of the venue.

Safety for employees, fans, artists and vendors is always paramount. Last Wednesday’s storm was an exceptionally severe and significant weather event, and in the days since, engineers have conducted a thorough assessment of the venue in coordination with the City of Toronto. That work has determined that sections of the venue impacted by the storm will need to be removed and rebuilt.
