Foo Fighters have officially joined the bill for AC/DC’s rescheduled New York-area stadium show, set for Friday, October 2, at MetLife Stadium, as per UCR. Originally scheduled for September 25, the concert was postponed due to a powerful nor’easter storm that swept across the East Coast. Announcing their addition with a vibrant social media post reading “Let there be rock,” the Dave Grohl-led outfit will team up with the Australian rock icons for a second time this year, following a previous one-off support appearance in St. Louis. The rescheduled MetLife Stadium event will serve as the grand finale for the 2027 North American leg of AC/DC‘s Power Up tour.

AC/DC‘s Power Up tour, which began in May 2024, has been much simpler than their Rock or Bust tour of 2015–16. They have stated that the event in Philadelphia on September 29 will mark the end of this tour, but they have made no mention of their future intentions.
Formed in Sydney in 1973 by brothers Angus (lead guitar) and Malcolm Young (rhythm guitar), AC/DC is an iconic Australian band known for its signature high-energy sound. Though critics often label their music as hard rock, blues rock, or heavy metal, the band has always simply considered it “rock and roll.” The group served as a major influence on the New Wave of British Heavy Metal—inspiring acts like Def Leppard and Saxon—and was widely viewed by critics as part of the new wave of stars taking over as classic rock pioneers stepped back. The original lineup featured drummer Colin Burgess, bassist Larry Van Kriedt, and vocalist Dave Evans, undergoing multiple roster shifts prior to the release of their 1975 debut album, “High Voltage”, initially issued only in Australasia.
