Live Nation mandated by city authorities to repair damaged stadium before AC/DC concert

Live Nation has been ordered by the City of Toronto to make repairs to Rogers Stadium prior to AC/DC‘s September 16 performance, as per UCR. On September 2, a massive storm severely damaged the stadium, blowing apart sections of the stands and causing at least one section of the grandstand to collapse. The City of Toronto approved the orders required for Rogers Stadium’s reopening after inspectors assessed the situation the day following the storm. The company’s responsibilities include restricting site access, engaging an engineer, suggesting a repair plan, obtaining a building permit, and adhering to safety regulations. The problem has not yet been addressed by AC/DC. As of this writing, there has been no announcement of a cancellation or postponement.

AC/DC‘s Power Up tour, which began in May 2024, has been much simpler than their Rock or Bust tour of 2015–16. They have stated that the event in Philadelphia on September 29 will mark the end of this tour, but they have made no mention of their future intentions.
