The renowned New York goth metal band Type O Negative has signed a one-year license agreement with the dark art street fashion brand Any Means Necessary. Four capsule releases reworking some of the band’s most iconic designs in the raw and emotive style of Any Means Necessary will be part of the collaboration. The band’s celebrated 1996 album “October Rust” will be honored with the first drop, which will launch on October 19 and include a variety of clothing and accessories such as shirts, hoodies, shorts, pins, and sweaters.
This project is deeply personal for me, I’ve been a fan of Type O Negative since I was a teenager, and their music was a huge part of my youth. We wanted to honor their legacy while exposing a new generation to the original goth rock band. By blending their iconic aesthetic with our distinct sense of style, we’re creating pieces that let fans wear their darkness in a modern way. Shawn Coss, CEO, co-founder and creative director of Any Means Necessary
Golden Sombrero Licensing, a creative business development organization that leads licensing partnerships for the Any Means Necessary brand, facilitated this licensing agreement. More than just a brand, Any Means Necessary is a symbol of surviving in a society that is prepared to abandon individuals who face hardship. AMN, which was born on the streets, uses gloomy art to raise awareness about mental health and serves as a lighthouse for people who are feeling hopeless. More than just a catchphrase, “Find comfort in darkness” gives people who are struggling with their demons the assurance that they are not alone. More details are available on anymeansnecessary.com.
