The recently released teaser for Nine Inch Nails‘ planned July 17th release has fans talking, as per theprp. On July 15, the industrial metal band uploaded the video below to their social media accounts. Based on that video and the post below on the band’s recent joint Nine Inch Noize performance with regular touring partner Boys Noize, there is currently conjecture that their effort may be released on vinyl this Friday.

Singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Trent Reznor founded the American industrial rock group Nine Inch Nails, often known as NIN, in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1988. Until his frequent collaborator, English musician Atticus Ross, officially joined the band in 2016, Reznor was the only constant member. TVT Records released the band’s first album, “Pretty Hate Machine” (1989). The band joined with Interscope Records and released the EP “Broken” (1992), followed by the albums “The Downward Spiral” (1994) and “The Fragile” (1999), following a dispute with TVT on the album’s promotion.

After a break, Nine Inch Nails went on tour again and put out their fourth album, “With Teeth” (2005). After a conflict, the band left Interscope after the release of their subsequent album, “Year Zero” (2007). Before taking a second break, Nine Inch Nails continued to tour and independently released “Ghosts I–IV” (2008) and “The Slip” (2008). The EPs “Not the Actual Events” (2016) and “Add Violence” (2017) and their ninth album “Bad Witch” (2018) comprised the trilogy that followed their eighth album, “Hesitation Marks” (2013). In 2020, the band simultaneously released two further “Ghosts” albums: “Ghosts V: Together” and “Ghosts VI: Locusts”. Through their multimedia firm “With Teeth”, Nine Inch Nails announced several new projects in 2024.

They released the soundtrack of Tron: Ares and started the Peel It Back Tour in 2025. Reznor usually puts together a live band to perform with him when on tour under the Nine Inch Nails moniker. The present roster of this live band includes Reznor and Ross, together with Robin Finck (who joined in 1994), Josh Freese (who joined in 2005), and Stu Brooks (who joined in 2026). Over the years, the band has had a number of players leave and return. The band’s concerts are renowned for their extensive use of intricate lighting, sophisticated special effects, and thematic visual aspects. The melody or lyrics of songs that aren’t slated to be played are occasionally incorporated into other songs, and songs are frequently changed to match any specific performance.
