Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails has revealed details about the Nine Inch Noize project’s planned first album, as per theprp. Last weekend at Coachella, Reznor and his longtime NIN bandmate Atticus Ross dazzled the crowd onstage with the project’s live premiere. According to the project’s moniker, they were coupled with DJ Boys Noize, their preferred collaborator and frequent tour companion. The arrival of Mariqueen Maandig Reznor, however, was unexpected. Mariqueen is not just Trent’s wife, but she also participates in How To Destroy Angels, another Nine Inch Nails side project.

The aforementioned set was nearly exclusively composed of remixed and rearranged songs from the Nine Inch Nails repertoire, rather than presenting all new material at once. Nine Inch Nails announced before to their performance last week that the project’s debut album would be released this Friday, April 17. In addition to Reznor’s intriguing hint that new Nine Inch Nails music is in the works, Nine Inch Noize‘s upcoming self-titled LP now has a confirmed track listing. You can see that record, which includes a cover of Soft Cell’s “Memorabilia,” closely resembles the set list of the industrial metal titans’ recent performance with Boys Noize and Mariqueen.

Nine Inch Noize will make a comeback to the Coachella festival coming Saturday, April 18, as mentioned by Reznor. At 8:00 p.m. PST, they will once more perform on the Sahara stage.

The creative fulfillment of working on the Challengers and TRON scores with Boys Noize led me to think that including him in the Peel It Back tour could be an interesting way to express NIN in more purely electronic terms live – a concept I’ve wanted to explore for some time. The result was so much fun for us we felt it was worth expanding and formalizing in some way. On a whim I mentioned it would be cool to play a whole set as Nine Inch Noize in the Sahara tent at Coachella. Careful what you wish for…the next thing I knew we were designing a whole new show to present in the way it deserved.

There’s no surprise tour announcement – this Saturday is it. I’m taking Sunday off and excited to be working on new Nine Inch Nails music Monday – I’ll see you when I come up for air. We recorded this album all over the place – some of it’s live, some in studios, hotels, planes, etc. We had a lot of fun revisiting these songs and hope you enjoy. Listen LOUD.
