Slipknot has released an official video recap showcasing the band’s initial performances with their new drummer, former Sepultura percussionist Eloy Casagrande. The one-minute video, available below, features highlights from their intimate concert on April 25th at Pappy + Harriet’s in Pioneertown, California, as well as their first festival appearance of 2024 on April 27, where they headlined Sick New World in Las Vegas, Nevada.
For both the performances Slipknot embraced a nostalgic look, revisiting their classic 1999 red jumpsuits and incorporating elements of their original masks into modern versions. This choice resonates with their 25th-anniversary celebration this year. Following the departure of Jay Weinberg last November, Slipknot tantalized fans with a hint about their new drummer two months ago, sharing a photo of a lone broken drumstick online accompanied by the caption “Rehearsal.” The band clarified in a statement that parting ways with Weinberg was a creative decision. Jay subsequently expressed his feelings in a statement, revealing he felt “heartbroken and blindsided”. In the meantime, Weinberg has joined Suicidal Tendencies and Infectious Grooves.
