Hasbro is returning to the world of harder music for a reimagined version of the 1986 big screen debut of another of their popular 80s animated series, “The Transformers: The Movie,” after bringing the fictional metal band Cold Slither from the 80s cartoon series “G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero” to life, as per theprp. Given that the original movie’s soundtrack had a hard rock and heavier vibe at the time, especially thanks to Stan Bush’s efforts, this updated version of the record will have a small army of new musicians. Similar to Cold Slither, Ross Sewage (Exhumed, Ghoul), Matt Harvey (Exhumed Gruesome), and Gus Rios (Gruesome, ex-Malevolent Creation) are performing as the house band under the name The Knights Of Unicron.
This revamped version, titled “The Transformers: The Move: The Soundtrack: The Reformatted Edition,” also features composer Vince DiCola from the original soundtrack. Reigning Phoenix Music will release this updated version on July 24. The first song, a re-recording of Stan Bush‘s “The Touch,” kicks off the soundtrack’s “rollout,” which also commemorates the movie’s 40th anniversary. Bush is supported by the aforementioned Knights of Unicron organization. Sebastian Bach (formerly of Skid Row), Mark Osegueda (Death Angel, Kerry King), Brittney Slayes (Unleash The Archers), Francesco Cavalieri of Wind Rose, and others are among the other players on this new record.
