Stone Sour is an American rock ensemble established in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1992. The group disbanded after a five-year tenure, concluding their initial phase in 1997.

In 2000, they reformed, and since 2015, the lineup has included lead vocalist Corey Taylor, rhythm guitarist Josh Rand, drummer Roy Mayorga, bassist Johny Chow, and lead guitarist Christian Martucci. Longstanding members Joel Ekman (drums, percussion) and Shawn Economaki (bass) departed from the band in 2006 and 2011, respectively, while former lead guitarist Jim Root exited in 2014.

Since 2020, the band has been in a state of indefinite hiatus. To date, Stone Sour has produced six studio albums: “Stone Sour” (2002), “Come What(ever) May” (2006), “Audio Secrecy” (2010), “House of Gold & Bones – Part 1” (2012), “House of Gold & Bones – Part 2” (2013), and “Hydrograd” (2017).

Additionally, they released a digital live album titled “Live in Moscow” in 2007. The album “Hydrograd”, released in June 2017, marks the first collaboration with guitarist Christian Martucci and bassist Johny Chow.

Stone Sour garnered two Grammy Award nominations, both in the category of Best Metal Performance, for the singles “Get Inside” in 2003 and “Inhale” in 2004.

Furthermore, for their album “Come What(ever) May”, the ensemble received an additional Grammy Award nomination for Best Metal Performance for the single “30/30-150” in 2007.

As of April 2017, the band has achieved sales of 2.1 million albums within the United States.
