“Sense of Adventure” – the new single from Los Angeles rockers Crymwav

Crymwav (pronounced Crimewave) were formed in 2022 from the ashes of Los Angeles rock and rollers Smash Fashion, when guitarist/songwriter Roger Deering and lead guitarist Lloyd Stuart Casson teamed up with Goatsnake and ex-Obsessed drummer Greg Rogers and bassist Bruce Braddock. All of similar age, and a shared baptism into the music world through the American hardcore scene in the 80s, punk, post punk, goth, NWOBM as well as Thin Lizzy, UFO, and The Ruts. Vocalist Roger Deering says:

“Crymwav started to come together for me while I was staying in London around 3 years ago. I went to London to visit my girlfriend who was staying in Ladbroke Grove, a songwriting spree came to me. I wanted to channel the bands from that area. Hawkwind, Clash, Killing Joke, Motörhead, and I came back to LA with a fistfull of songs.”

In November 2023 Crymwav self released a 6 song EP “24/7”, recorded in downtown LA. The EP received rave reviews, and considerable radio airplay worldwide:

New single “Sense of Adventure” blends the energetic punk sound of Angel City with the gothic rock flair of The Damned. It follows the late 2024 release “Contagious”, a dark, danceable anthem with an infectious hook, which once again received global radio airplay, being included in many best of 2024 radio charts. Both singles produced by JJ Blair (Rod Stewart, Jeff Beck, Weezer) are a taste of what’s to come from the forthcoming album, slated for a summer 2025 release.
