In a recent episode of the Die by the Click Podcast, Lucas Mann, the mastermind behind Rings of Saturn, discussed the band’s latest single, “Theogony,” and unveiled a significant shift in their musical direction.
Mann revealed that Rings of Saturn is intentionally transitioning towards instrumental music and has made the firm decision to forego death metal vocalists in their future compositions. Speaking passionately about the matter, Mann emphasized the importance of maintaining integrity in a project that has consumed over 15 years of dedication, investment, and effort.
“I’ve poured my heart and soul into this project for over a decade, and it’s become an integral part of my life,” Mann expressed during the podcast. “And part of maintaining that integrity means steering it in the direction that feels true to its essence.”
Addressing the question of whether the band would ever incorporate death metal vocals, Mann was unequivocal. “It’s just not my vibe anymore,” he declared. “I respect the craft, the years of hard work that go into mastering it, but personally, I’ve moved on.”
This sentiment was further solidified in a social media post where Mann reiterated the band’s commitment to their new musical path. “We are never bringing back any past vocalists or adding any new vocalists to our music,” Mann affirmed. “We are making the music we want to create, and have moved on instrumentally. Thank you to all of our fans who have accepted this, and support us 🪐👽“
As Rings of Saturn embraces this new chapter, fans can anticipate a fresh sonic journey that stays true to the band’s creative vision, while bidding farewell to vocal elements of the past.
