Wolves in the Throne Room, the kings of American black metal, are back with their new album “Estuary”, due for release on 23 October 2026 via Century Media Records.
Today sees the release of the new, second single and title track from the new album. Accompanied by a music video produced by WITTR, the track follows mythical figures as they move through a dilapidated landscape of concrete, collapsed railway tracks and industrial ruins overgrown with brambles and ivy. The blue heron dominates the estuary, where salt water and fresh water merge in an alchemy of renewal. Watch the video here:

“If, in the future, the wilderness were to overwhelm the cities, estuaries would become realms of power and magic. In the album’s narrative universe, estuaries are nerve centres where magic has taken physical form. Spirits, both good and evil, roam the earth.”
“Estuary” is a raw and unsettling album, characterised by the overwhelming sensuality of noisy industrial elements, which unfolds through a realm of warm rain, majestic forests and diffused starlight. Imposing percussion and seething gothic guitars liberate the listener’s psyche from all stagnation.
