For many years, Richie Cip, whose real name is Richard Cipriano, has played a significant role in the New York Hardcore scene, as per Blabbermouth. During the early years of Sick Of It All, Richie served as the bassist, contributing to the development of a sound that would later impact innumerable musicians and fans worldwide. His playing is ingrained in the history of New York hardcore, from the band’s early demo and seven-inch single on Revelation Records to Sick Of It All’s debut album, “Blood, Sweat, And No Tears” from 1989. Cipriano was just given a pancreatic cancer diagnosis. The community he helped create has a chance to unite and support him as he embarks on this challenging journey.
The Richie Cipriano Fund was created by Sweet Relief Musicians Fund in response to this diagnosis in order to help with his medical care and recuperation. The Revelation Records online store also sells a fundraising T-shirt, with the money raised going to help Cipriano. Career artists and professionals in the music industry can receive services and financial support from the Sweet Relief artists Fund. Insurance premiums, prescription drugs, medical care and surgery, housing costs, food costs, electricity, and other essential living expenses are all covered by grants. This is an opportunity to support someone who has made a significant contribution to New York Hardcore music and culture in a community that is based on mutual support.
