At the July 26 “Vans Warped Tour” stop in Long Beach, California, Santa Cruz, CA hardcore punk group DRAIN began their performance with an homage to the late Sick Of It All vocalist Lou Koller, as per theprp. Sadly, it was revealed last week that Lou had passed away as a result of his fight with cancer. The opening song of DRAIN‘s performance at the “Vans Warped Tour” was a tribute to Koller and his legacy. Vocalist Sammy Ciaramitaro gave the following speech to the audience prior to their rendition of the 1980s Sick Of It All classic “It’s Clobberin’ Time.“ DRAIN’s performance was one of those that was livestreamed from this past weekend’s most recent destination festival stop; the footage has since been posted online.
Check it out, for the last six years we’ve opened every single set with the same song. We’re gonna change it up today. We’re gonna pay some respect to one of the many late heroes of hardcore. This goes out to Lou. This goes out to Sick Of It All. ‘Warped Tour‘, do you know what fucking time it is?
