Priest, a synthwave band made up of former members of Swedish rock band Ghost, has signed a new record deal with Cleopatra Records.

The band’s singer Mercury was in Ghost as Nameless Ghoul under the name Water, while keyboardist Salt played under the name Air. The band also features a musician who goes by the stage name Sulfur.

Priest has been active since 2017 and has released two albums, the latest being last year’s “Cyberhead”.

“We’ve been living in this genre since the ’90s so we have a pretty good feel for when bands do it right, and as soon as we heard Priest, we knew they were something special. We see an extremely bright future ahead for the band and are thrilled to be partnering with them to make that happen”, says Cleopatra owner Brian Perera.

Ghost recently released their first new song in two years. Information about the new album is currently awaited. Papa Emeritus IV is also featured in Iron Maiden’s official video game.
