For a prospective A.I. incarnation, the Osbourne family has approved the licensing of the rights to their late patriarch, heavy metal legend Ozzy Osbourne, as per theprp. According to License Global, in order to complete this project, his wife Sharon and son Jack have teamed up with HYPERREAL, a business renowned for organising avatar concerts and events, among other things.

It’s kind of scary how it’s really very accurate. He will exist digitally as himself for as long as we have computers. Technology has come such a long way to where it’s almost drag and drop. You could shoot a template for a commercial … literally prompt what you want Digital Ozzy to do in that commercial and you just drop it in. It’s that simple now. – Jack Osbourne

You can ask Ozzy anything, and he will answer you in his own voice – and the answers will be what Ozzy would have said. We’re going to take it all around the world. People can talk to him and he will talk back. – Sharon Osbourne

Since Ozzy passed away on July 22, 2025, a significant amount of licensing has been done using his likeness for watches, makeup, and other products. However, Jack has said that he and the family want to maintain some authenticity in any future licensing of the late Prince of Darkness. Additionally, Sharon expressed her wish to preserve her late husband’s brand.

Sharon intends to honour Ozzy‘s legacy in 2027 with the return of the “Ozzfest,” which has so far largely proven to be a welcome return to a festival that previously served as the launching pad for numerous current metal stars, even though this A.I. avatar incarnation of Ozzy is likely to prove divisive. In order to preserve their own history, hard rock superstars KISS have chosen to follow in the footsteps of the Osbourne family; nevertheless, their likenesses will endure through digital avatar-based “live” concerts.
