Swedish superstars Opeth started their co-headlining tour with American mammoths Mastodon last night (November 16) in Asheville, NC.

The performance marked the band’s first show with Therion’s drummer Sam Karppinen, who was announced as the group’s new touring drummer earlier the day. The band has split with longtime drummer Martin “Axe” Axenrot over a supposed “conflict of interests.”
