This Thursday, July 30, at the TEDxFargo event in Fargo, North Dakota, former Van Halen bandmates David Lee Roth and Alex Van Halen will share the stage, as per UCR. Although Roth‘s recent arrival has undoubtedly drawn attention, Alex had been listed as a speaker at the event several weeks prior. More than ten years have passed since Van Halen‘s last performance, which was held at the Hollywood Bowl on October 4, 2015. The show was Alex and Roth‘s final public appearance together. When Roth cancelled all but one of his remaining 2026 tour dates, it made headlines. Alex, on the other hand, has mostly avoided the spotlight, only occasionally appearing to promote his memoir Brothers, which was published in 2024.
Renowned musician Robert Vargas will join the rockers at TEDxFargo. The mural of Eddie Van Halen at the Guitar Center in Hollywood is one of the most well-known pieces created by the Los Angeles-based painter. Vargas is said to have grown close to Alex in recent years. It is not anticipated that the occasion would include a musical performance. Rather, the following promise is being used to promote it.
Three icons. One stage. One conversation you won’t want to miss.
The Brewhalla entertainment venue will host TEDxFargo. Over 40 speakers will give “thought-provoking talks, live performances, and opportunities to connect with a community of changemakers” over the course of two days. You can find tickets and other details here. The talks, including the exchange between Roth and Van Halen, will be available for viewing on YouTube in a few weeks for those who are unable to attend in person.
