On Saturday 12th of August, one of the most popular and successful nu-metal bands – Limp Bizkit – came to Halifax, a small town in West Yorkshire, UK, and gave an incredible performance at The Piece Hall. The town was buzzing all day, with its residents and visitors excited to see their favourite band. The gig started with two lovely support acts – Joey Valence & Brae and KennyHoopla – warming up the crowd. Fred Durst, Wes Borland, Dj Lethal, John Otto and Sam Rivers took the stage at precisely 9 pm. To say that the audience was excited would be an understatement! The crowd surfing began the second Limp Bizkit stepped on stage. After the first song, Durst commented that he wasn’t expecting that kind of reception from Halifax. All five band members performed magnificently. The crowd was jumping, moshing and singing along. In the middle of the set, people started chanting “Yorkshire!” as local Yorkshire people often do at gigs and sporting events. Fred was a bit confused but quickly picked up on what was being chanted and started repeating it, which ignited the loudest cheer of the evening. The band’s set lasted 1 hour and 30 minutes, but the time flew by fast. Halifax will remember the night for a long time, and we hope Limp Bizkit will come to this lovely town again as they promised. See the photos of the gig below!
