Carrie Underwood goes nu metal during her set at Velocity Festival

During her performance on September 5th at the “Velocity Festival,” Carrie Underwood included versions of Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, and Papa Roach, as per theprp. The Fields of Dreams in Dyersville, Iowa, hosted that event. She sang Linkin Park‘s early 2000s smash “One Step Closer,” Collective Soul‘s “Shine,” and her own bits from Papa Roach’s “Scars” near the end of her performance. To complete that block of covers, she also wore a red hat for a performance of Limp Bizkit‘s timeless 1999 smash song “Break Stuff.” Underwood has already expressed her affinity for nü-metal from the late 1990s and early 2000s on “American Idol” back in 2025.
