British death-doom pioneers My Dying Bride have unveiled details of their upcoming 15th studio album, “A Mortal Binding”, due for release on April 19 through Nuclear Blast Records. The announcement was coupled with the release of a new single, “Thornwyck Hymn”, accompanied by a Daniel Gray-directed music video. Watch the clip below.

Frontman Aaron Stainthorpe comments: “Set upon the rugged coast of Yorkshire, Thornwyck village has spent an eternity being haunted by the chill waters that wash its shore – and the hidden folk who dwell in the salty depths. Woe betide anyone who fares into the briny sea, or even steels too close to its edge for they may never set foot back on mother earth.”

“A Mortal Binding” was produced, mixed and mastered by Mark Mynett, who also worked on the outfit’s previous release, “The Ghost of Orion” (2020). During the production of the album, the band used Mynett’s Mynetaur Productions in Manchester, where they recorded the material from July to September 2023.
