Candlemass thank Felipe Plaza Kutzbach for filling in for hospitalised frontman Johan Längqvist

As we reported two days ago, the Swedish epic doom metallers Candlemass announced “a special guest vocalist” and “a couple of celeb surprise guests” for their performance at London Metalfest 2026 following the hospitalisation of Candlemass frontman Johan Längqvist. Now, they are thanking Felipe Plaza Kutzbach (Procession, Deströyer 666) for filling in for Johan Längqvist, as well as Aaron Stainthorpe (High Parasite, Towards The Sinister, formerly also My Dying Bride) and Tony Dolan (Venom Inc., formerly Venom) “who also helped us out”:

“LIGHTS OUT IN LONDOOM!! Had a fantastic evening at the Electric Ballroom in London, despite the fact that we went to England without our singer, our dear friend Johan. He had to be rushed to hospital prior to the show, and we still don’t know much about his status. Hoping for a speedy/full recovery of course! So a humongous thanks to friend/crew/brother Felipe who jumped in and saved the show in such a tremendous way! Also huge thanks to Tony ‘The Demolition Man’ Dolan from Venom inc and Aaron Stainthorpe from My Dying Bride who also helped us out. You guys ROCK!! Extra cred/thanks to the crowd and our fans who supported us all the way in this! You sent so much love and you were also absolutely amazing at the show!! You are the BEST!! Much Love!!”
