Mark Lanegan has passed away

Mark Lanegan, former frontman of the Screaming Trees and former band member of the Queens Of The Stone Age, has passed away on the morning of 22 February 2022 at his home in Killarney, Ireland. According to an official statement which was published on his social media accounts, “No other information is available at this time”. The singer, songwriter, author and musician was 57 years old and is survived by his wife Shelley Brien.

The couple had moved from the US to Ireland in 2020. In March 2021, Mark Lanegan contracted Covid-19 and was hospitalised. Amongst other things, he was “slipping in and out of a coma”. Later on, Mark Lanegan shared these experiences in a book with the title “Devil In A Coma” which was published on 14 December 2021 via White Rabbit Books.
