Ben Eller, a guitarist, has joined Machine Head on their current U.S. tour with Killswitch Engage, as per theprp. Eller was a last-minute live fill-in with Mastodon in March 2025, despite his primary role as a guitar influencer. Robb Flynn, the guitarist and singer for Machine Head, made the announcement on social media on June 3. Flynn pointed out that Eller wasn’t given enough time beforehand to master every song, therefore it appears like Eller is being tested once more. Eller is inhabiting the role of guitarist Reece Scruggs on this trek. Eller is simply standing in for Reece, as Machine Head themselves revealed in the comments of the Instagram post below, even if his absence doesn’t seem to have been officially addressed.
Machine Head and Killswitch Engage, another Roadrunner Records alumni, are currently touring. Iron Reagan (formerly Darkest Hour, Municipal Waste) is opening. Later this summer, Machine Head will embark on another North American tour with Killswitch Engage. Judiciary, Malevolence, and Rivers of Nihil will also be featured on that journey.
