Limp Bizkit is an American nu metal ensemble originating from Jacksonville, Florida. The ensemble’s composition includes lead vocalist Fred Durst, drummer John Otto, guitarist Wes Borland, and turntablist DJ Lethal. The musical genre of the ensemble is characterized by Durst’s aggressive vocal delivery and Borland’s innovative sonic experimentation. The ensemble is recognized as one of the most commercially successful nu-metal bands in history. It has received three Grammy Award nominations, achieved global record sales of 40 million, and has garnered numerous additional accolades.

Established in 1994 by Durst and Sam Rivers, the ensemble was subsequently joined by John Otto and later by Wes Borland. Limp Bizkit attained considerable popularity within the Jacksonville underground music scene during the late 1990s, ultimately signing with Flip Records (with distribution provided by Interscope), which facilitated the release of the ensemble’s inaugural album, “Three Dollar Bill, Y’all” (1997). The ensemble attained mainstream recognition with its second and third studio albums, “Significant Other” (1999) and “Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water” (2000). Nevertheless, this commercial success was overshadowed by a series of controversies associated with its performances at Woodstock ’99 and the 2001 Big Day Out festival.
