Nu metal legends Limp Bizkit have shared their video homage to their late bassist/vocalist Sam Rivers, as per theprp. The 48-year-old artist died on October 18th, 2025. Rivers, a highly skilled musician, was one of the original members of the groupand played a significant role in creating numerous standout bass lines in their various successful songs. Although thespecific circumstances surrounding his death were not disclosed publicly, a police document regarding his passing provided some context about his premature demise.
This recently uploaded video, accompanied by Limp Bizkit‘s 2003 song “Drown,” seems to be the same presentation that Limp Bizkit first showcased last fall when they returned to perform for the first time following Rivers’ death. That performance was held on November 29th, 2025 at the Estadio Fray Nano in Mexico City, Mexico, where Rivers’ live successor, Ecca Vandal bassist Richie “Kid Not” Buxton, made his debut. Tributes for Rivers flooded in from around the world in the aftermath of his death, with many of his contemporaries openly expressing their sorrow and commending his talent.
In a heartfelt tribute video, Limp Bizkit‘s frontman Fred Durst highlighted the significant impact Rivers had on the band, saying, “What he’s left us behind is priceless. He was such a special person. ” When they announced Rivers’ death last October, Limp Bizkit collectively described him as, “The pulse beneath every song, the calm in the chaos, the soul in the sound. ” In a rare interview, Korn bassist Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu expressed admiration for Rivers, noting their shared experiencesperforming on stage together multiple times.
