Kevin Nash, a two-time WWE Hall of Famer, has admitted that he wasn’t very fond of Korn‘s music when he first heard it, as per theprp. The former professional wrestler and actor, made an appearance on his “Kliq This” podcast. discussed his musical tastes and how he reacted negatively to the advice to check out the previously mentioned nü-metal pioneers.
You know, I was always, to this day, when music came out, I would go to either Best Buys or Circuit City, and I would just — because I was making coin — like when the new CDs dropped, I’d buy 12 or 14 CDs. I’d buy what whatever was out because I was going on the road.
And I remember everybody was telling me about Korn. And I was driving, I was by myself, and I was in Lincoln Continental. And, you know, it was one of those deals where I was so into, like at that time of my life, I was so into like Tupac and that whole Death Row sound, that Korn was so far from my [tastes,] I listened to like 30 seconds of it, ejected it, put the window down and slung it out the window, like ‘No.’
When co-host Sean Oliver questioned if Nash had really thrown the CD out the window, he acknowledged that he had. He did acknowledge, though, that years later, Korn‘s music did eventually resonate with him.
And then two years later like, I actually on something, heard like two or three cuts, and I said, ‘Oh, I guess I should have gave it a chance.
He continued by saying that he is still obsessed with music and has a wide range of likes, including R&B, soul, rap, and more. He also mentioned that he has been playing SiriusXM’s Lithium channel lately.
So right now I’m on Lithium… So today they had the — I’m horrible with names — but it’s the guitar player from Soundgarden, I think his name’s, it’s Kim [Thayil] something, and they were doing like a a deep cut. He just put a memoir out and [Chris] Cornell [late Soundgarden frontman] was like [amazing], If I could have anyone’s voice, I would have Cornell‘s voice.
