Earlier this month, Korn singer Jonathan Davis wed his long-time partner Brittany Parisi in an unexpectedly extravagant ceremony that was documented by People Magazine, as per MetalInjection. Inspired by the painting “The Birth of Venus” by Italian artist Sandro Botticelli, Davis and Parisi were married on July 3 in the California seaside resort of Palos Verdes Estates. At The Neighbourhood Church of Palos Verdes, the couple exchanged the customary part of their vows. In an attempt to mimic Florence, Italy, where Davis first proposed in front of the painting on June 12 of last year, the remainder of the ceremony took place along the coast.

Center of Attention Events’ creator and chief designer, Michele Fox Gott, planned and created the Renaissance-inspired ceremony, which included thoughtfully planned floral arrangements and a subdued colour scheme. Since only “their band family and their blood family” were invited as guests, the remaining Korn members—guitarists James “Munky” Shaffer and Brian Welch, bassist Ra Diaz, and drummer Ray Luzier—were also present for the wedding.

I was already on cloud nine — sitting in the sun with my coffee, my gelato, and my rock star boyfriend — when he surprised me with a trip to a museum I’d always dreamed of visiting: the Uffizi Gallery. I’ve always been obsessed with my Italian heritage and the history of the Medici family, who commissioned Botticelli to create some of my favorite paintings, when we stopped in front of ‘The Birth of Venus’ and I looked over to see Jon down on one knee asking me to marry him, it honestly felt like a dream. Award-winning bagpiper Aaron Shaw performed during Davis and Parisi’s musical ceremony as a tribute to Davis’s Scottish ancestry and his own skill as a bagpiper. An all-female string quartet from Las Vegas performed Richard Wagner‘s “Bridal Chorus” and Johann Pachelbel‘s “Canon in D” for Parisi’s wedding. Felix Mendelssohn‘s “Wedding March” played as the couple walked down the aisle together following their ceremonial marriage. Designer Ashton Michael, who has frequently created stage attire for Davis in the past, created special ensembles for Parisi and Davis. He donned a Douglass Tartan, while Parisi wore a dress that was similarly influenced by “The Birth of Venus.”
