The official music video for “Molon Labe” from Jon Schaffer’s recently released reimagining of his most uncompromising work has been released by DazVideos, as per Blabbermouth. Schaffer is the founder, chief songwriter, and driving force behind legendary heavy metal acts Iced Earth, Demons & Wizards, Sons Of Liberty, Jon Schaffer’s Purgatory, and the Schaffer/Barlow project. The new mix “Sons Of Liberty – Thought Crimes (Volumes 1 & 2)” by Jon Schaffer combines the unadulterated spirit of the “Spirit Of The Times” EP (2011) and the “Brush-fires Of The Mind” LP (2009), giving new vitality to a message that has proven prophetic in a time of growing global challenges. The song offers a historical perspective on disobedience and personal freedom. After “Full Spectrum Dominance” was released, this is the second music video from the new album.

Molon Labe (Translates as Come and Take It or Come and Take Them) is a song that I wrote and recorded in 2011, and was inspired by King Leonidas and his actions during the battle of Thermopylae (480 BC) and is dedicated to him, and his elite royal guard of 300 Spartans.  These actions have become a legendary symbol of courage, discipline, and self sacrifice against an overwhelming force.

Now available on all streaming services, “Thought Crimes (Volumes 1 & 2)” invites listeners of all ages to experience its urgency. On July 4, 2026, which is the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, collectors will receive a unique physical launch through The Circle Music. This includes a sleek digipak CD and cassette, an opulent limited-edition leather box CD, and a double gatefold vinyl edition in five vivid colours (available only at www.icedearthmerch.com).

These releases, which were initially made with programmed drums to cut expenses, were intended to be a gift to the world that could be freely duplicated, shared, and amplified rather than for financial gain.
