Dino Cazares reveals he has abandoned bass duties in the studio for the new Fear Factory album

Beyond the obvious, Fear Factory’s upcoming studio album is yet another significant achievement for the gold-certified industrial metal band, as per theprp. This upcoming full-length album is the first time that the band’s bassist Tony Campos (who is also a member of Static-X) has recorded every bass track on any of Fear Factory’s albums, as guitarist Dino Cazares explained on social media overnight. Even though Campos joined Fear Factory in 2015, Cazares handled the majority of the low-end work, as he has on several of the band’s previous records.

Naturally, this next new album will also be their first without vocalist Burton C. Bell and their first with Milo Silvestro in his place. Additionally, it’s their first time with drummer Pete Webber, who took over in 2023. The lead track, “Robotocist,” made its online premiere last month, but release specifics for that outing are still waiting.

Besides recently getting behind the drum kit again after many years, and before anyone assumes otherwise ,I’ve also recorded all the bass tracks on Soul of a New Machine, Demanufacture, Mechanize, The Industrialist, Genexus, and Aggression Continuum. In fact, I’ve recorded bass on more Fear Factory albums than any of our previous bassists.

On the new Fear Factory record, Tony Campos handled all the bass tracks, marking the first time he’s recorded bass on a Fear Factory album.
