Legendary vocalist/guitarist Max Cavalera is constantly making music and traveling the world with one of his many projects, like Soulfly, Go Ahead and Die or the supergroup Killer Be Killed. Furthermore, he remains united with his brother, drummer Iggor Cavalera, and since last year the duo has been re-recording material from the early catalogue of their years with Sepultura.
“Schizophrenia” will be released on June 21st via Nuclear Blast, and is the album that closes the “Third World Trilogy” of Cavalera Conspiracy re-recordings. Bringing the modern sound of the current days with the brutality and rawness of the 80s for this remake, the brothers once again count on Arthur Rizk to co-produce it and Igor Amadeus, Max’s son on bass.
Promoting the new album, Chaoszine spoke with Max in a video call to talk about the nostalgia of listening to the original album almost forty years later, family ties playing metal with his brother and sons, his hobby as a graphic artist and the importance of Finnish bands at the beginning of his career.
