Veteran metal vocalist Howard Jones is expanding his musical horizons with the announcement of his first solo album, set to be produced by Spiritbox‘s Josh Gilbert. The news comes during an already busy period for the former Killswitch Engage frontman.

Jones, who led Killswitch Engage from 2002 to 2012 during their rise to multi-platinum success, shared the update on December 18th:

“Back in the studio, recording a few different features and projects. After a lot of talk it’s finally happening. Starting work on my first solo album, stoked to have Josh Gilbert producing. More to come soon.”

This solo venture adds to Jones’s already full plate of musical projects. He currently performs with Light The Torch and SION, and is working on the debut album from Burn Eternal, a collaboration with his former Killswitch Engage bandmate Adam Dutkiewicz. Jones’s musical career also includes his work with Blood Has Been Shed, demonstrating his versatility across various metal subgenres.
