“2 Big 2 Rig” is Ghost’s second full-length concert film, as per theprp. This new movie, which will debut in theatres, including IMAX screens, on August 26th, is based on the band’s two major performances at the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City, Mexico. Tobias Forge was one of the main producers, while Amir Chamdin, who has previously directed several music videos for the band, was the director. This upcoming movie is anticipated to focus more on the “Ghost live ritual” and have less narrative than the Ghost’s last film, “Rite Here Rite Now.” Next Thursday, July 23, at 6:00 a.m. PDT (9:00 a.m. EDT), tickets will be available. The Swedish rock group Ghost was founded in Linköping in 2006. The band became well-known throughout the world after releasing their first album, “Opus Eponymous”, in 2010. “Infestissumam” (2013) and “Meliora” (2015), which peaked at number one in Sweden and number eight in the US, came next. The albums “Impera” in 2022 and “Prequelle” in 2018 came next. “Skeletá”, the band’s sixth studio album, debuted in 2025 and went on to become their first number one on the US Billboard 200 chart. With the exception of the lead vocalist, Ghost’s members are referred to as “Nameless Ghouls” because to their costumed on-stage presence. Known for its “demonic anti-pope” iconography, the lead singer has performed as “Papa Emeritus” on stage.

The group’s music blends pop rock, arena rock, heavy metal, and hard rock. Tobias Forge was identified as the main singer in 2017 after a number of musicians who collaborated with him on the Ghost project filed a lawsuit over payments. The band has been nominated for multiple Swedish Grammy Awards, and their single “Cirice” won them a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance in 2016.
