The Swedish rock group Ghost was founded in Linköping in 2006. The band became well-known throughout the world after releasing their first album, “Opus Eponymous”, in 2010. “Infestissumam” (2013) and “Meliora” (2015), which peaked at number one in Sweden and number eight in the US, came next. The albums “Impera” in 2022 and “Prequelle” in 2018 came next. “Skeletá”, the band’s sixth studio album, debuted in 2025 and went on to become their first number one on the US Billboard 200 chart. With the exception of the lead vocalist, Ghost’s members are referred to as “Nameless Ghouls” because to their costumed on-stage presence. Known for its “demonic anti-pope” iconography, the lead singer has performed as “Papa Emeritus” on stage.
