Has the Foo Fighters cancelled their tour dates for 2025? In an interview with Le Parisien, Ben Barbaud, the founder of Hellfest, said that they certainly did. After discussing why Muse is one of the four headliners at Hellfest, Barbaud disclosed the possible cancellation. According to Barbaud, Muse took the place of the Foo Fighters after the latter “cancelled their summer tour.”
They were offered to me on a platter. A month ago, I was offered to program them with a handful of other European festivals. Foo Fighters having cancelled their summer tour, Muse was called in as reinforcements. I accepted because I was missing a headliner on Friday and because the Hellfest audience is more and more open. With age, I too have matured, I am less sectarian. I created this festival for the love of punk, hardcore and at the beginning for the purists. But today, I prefer to shock them than to always do the same artists. Ben Barbaud
Note that there are currently no tour dates listed on the Foo Fighters website. Since no one had any arrangements to see the Foo Fighters, I guess there was no love lost because the rumoured cancelled 2025 tour was never announced either. As more information becomes available, we’ll update this story. If you’re wondering why Foo Fighters seem to be taking a break, it’s probably because of the backlash that followed band leader Dave Grohl had a child outside of his marriage.
