Ensiferum releases new music video for “Victorious” – gearing up for US tour with Korpiklaani

Finnish folk metal band Ensiferum has released a new music video for the track “Victorious”. The track is taken from the band’s recent album “Winter Storm”, which is now available via Metal Blade Records. The video shows the band preparing for a North American tour with Korpiklaani.

The fantasy-themed “Winter Storm” album was written by bassist Sami Hinkka. “Victorious” follows the band’s previous video “The Howl”, in which a young boy grows up to become a shaman. His people are defeated in war and as his final act he calls upon the Old Spirits once more. He sacrifices his mortal form and transforms into a spirit wolf, beginning his journey to find “The One” who will avenge his people’s fate.

“The One and the spirit wolf have now roamed the lands and gathered an army. They march to the gates of the city of the Winter Storm Vigilantes. The battle starts, but who shall be the last to stand on the battlefield? Who shall be victorious? This fast and furious song calls everyone into a moshpit! We are victorious!” Hinkka talks about the song “Victorious”.

The album was produced by Janne Joutsenniemi (Stone, Suburban Tribe) and features guest appearances by Lassi Logrén, Madeleine Liljestam (Eleine) and Mikko Mustonen.

The band heads to North America next week for the Folkfest Of The North tour with Korpiklaani, Trollfest and Nini.
