Finnish folk metal veterans Ensiferum return to North America this fall for a two-week headlining run dubbed Winter Storm Over North America. Firewind joins as direct support throughout the trek.
The tour kicks off at Prog Power USA in Atlanta, Georgia, and wraps up September 27 in Seattle, Washington. According to the band, they’re eager to bring the Winter Storm to North American stages alongside Firewind and meet fans in the pit once again. Tickets are on sale now.
The run supports “Winter Storm”, the band’s ninth studio album, which Metal Blade Records released in October 2024. Bassist Sami Hinkka penned the record’s fantasy concept narrative, while guitarist Markus Toivonen composed the music. Janne Joutsenniemi produced the album, and Jens Bogren handled mixing and mastering. Guest contributions came from Lassi Logrén on Nyckelharpa and violin, Mikko Mustonen on orchestration, and Eleine vocalist Madeleine Liljestam, who delivered all vocals on “Scars In My Heart.”
Earlier singles from the record include “Winter Storm Vigilantes,” “Long Cold Winter Of Sorrow And Strife,” “Fatherland,” and “The Howl.” Watched in sequence, the four music videos form a connected short film.
